Valerie Rovins - Art Instructor

Sporting a 30-year resumé as both an artist and educator, with degrees ranging from BFA, BS, MFA, and an MA from Columbia Teachers College, we are excited to have Valerie Rovins directing and teaching the new children’s art program at Fun Craft.
Valerie has already developed a reputation as the top-notch private and small group art instructor in Edgemont and Westchester.  She resided in Dallas, Laguna Beach, and New York City where she practiced and taught her craft before recently moving to Westchester with her two young children.  Her latest show was a huge success, held during 2008 in NYC: A Retrospective of Works from 1980-2008.
In response to the overwhelming demand for private instruction, Valerie has decided to team up with Fun Craft, where she can teach small groups and utilize the vast stockroom on the premises.  We are excited to have her join our family because we have always been devoted to the idea of offering a first-rate art program that can develop and foster creative and artistic talent in children.
Valerie focuses on experimentation with different art mediums until the child identifies his or her favorite.  She then teaches and develops skill through technique and practice to unleash the inner creative genius.  She believes it is important to learn and develop an artistic skill at an early age that can evolve through a lifetime.  Furthermore, children who develop their artistic ability at a young age are more able to comprehend emotions and express themselves clearly as an adolescent, and even later as an adult.
Valerie makes instruction fun and exciting, something most other art programs lack.  She wants her students to love what they are doing.  Her talent, expertise, and passion makes us proud to be offering the best new art program in Westchester.  To inquire about enrollment, contact our staff at 914-472-1748.
